The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s Boogie Band closes the 32nd Summer Series with “Living in America,” an energetic celebration of America through the music of popular artists spanning seven decades. This concert explores the many ways popular artists have saluted America in their music. From The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Chicago, Elton John, Neil Diamond, and James Brown to Martina McBride, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus and more, each song reflects a unique interpretation of America—its people, freedoms, hopes, and ideals. Together, these songs paint a musical portrait of America through the voices of some of popular music’s most memorable artists.
